Aayushi Begins Life with Her Adoptive Family

Aayushi, who is eight and had been in the care of our Children's Home, has been legally adopted and has moved in with her new family in Lalitpur. Both of her adoptive parents are working professionals, and they are now responsible for her care, her education, and her day-to-day wellbeing. She has started at a new school and is settling into family life — the ordinary rhythms of homework, meals, and being someone's daughter. For the caregivers who raised her, it is bittersweet; they have known her for years. But a permanent, loving family is the best outcome any child in our care can have, and it is exactly what we hope for. We wish Aayushi every happiness, and a bright and fulfilling future with her new family.

Events and moments like this are the reason the Children’s Home exists: to provide shelter as well as a path forward.
