Twenty Rescued Children Find Safety at Sano Khokana

On the evening of Saturday, July 18, twenty children, several of them infants, were relocated to the Children's Home at Sano Khokana after monsoon rains overwhelmed the drainage at Bal Mandir and made their previous shelter unlivable. Within days, a full daily rhythm was in place: regular feeding, hygiene, health checks, supervised play, rest, and early learning, with the youngest infants watched over around the clock. Five caregivers made the move with them (Sita Tolange, Kumari, Anju, Sabitri, and Janki Didi) so that the faces the children knew best stayed close during an unsettling transition. They are joined by Lalmati Didi and Suryamaya Didi from the Children’s Home, who help with meals, laundry, sleeping arrangements, and the quiet work of settling a child at the end of a long day.

Nutritious meals, clean living spaces, and regular medical observation remain the foundation of their recovery from these unfortunate events.
